Greetings comrades. I know, I know. It’s been a while. The past few months have been both extremely busy and productive. But I think now is the time to dust the cobwebs off this site and get the ball rolling once more. I have a lot of things to talk about over the next few months, but I thought it would be good to check in and give you all an update of things on my end, including some exciting upcoming projects!
I am very happy to say that, since last September, I have been working as a lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton. Lectures have taken place entirely online, but I like to think I hit the ground running (particularly thanks to the support of wonderful staff who have been incredibly warm and welcoming). I have a great cohort of students, which has added to the overall great experience I’ve had thus far! Check out the Philosophy, Religion and Ethics Twitter account for up-to-date news from the subject area.
Over at alt-ac.uk, things continue going from strength to strength. We are very excited to be hosting another annual online conference, dedicated to research on marginalised and often-neglected areas of study. Check out our CFP here, and please do submit an abstract! We are also having a lot of fun with our fortnightly What’s Interesting About…? podcast, during which we have a laid back conversation regarding aspects of culture (typically popular culture) that we find interesting in some way.
Another reason for the relative silence on this site of late is that I’ve been working on a number of publications, and my first book is out next month! Hurrah! I will be writing more posts on here in the build-up to its release – so stay tuned!
But that’s enough about me. I hope you are all staying safe and well – wear a mask and get vaccinated.
Watch this space for more content from the Holy Scriptures of the Shopping Mall. You can hit me up on Twitter in the meantime, I’m sure there’s another picture of one of my cats waiting for you…
